A Cute Photoshoot

Otis and his Mum came yesterday for a small photoshoot for a Father’s Day present.  The shoot was all hush hush.  I found a pair of braces and a flat cap which perfectly suited little Otis.  He looked so cute dressed up I nearly died!

Great Style

Otis’s Mum has great style.  Her house is amazing – light coloured walls and oodles of style.  She loves to come to me for photos as I can work with her and find the aesthetic she loves.  I think we both get design and fashion and timelessness – we have similar tastes.  A couple of years ago I took photos of her daughter Lottie and made Lottie’s Dad cry on Father’s Day.  We are hoping to do the same again.

Not getting dressed

Otis was a little unsure about the shoot at first.  He wouldn’t get dressed.  I told him, if you get dressed I’ll show you one of our guinea pigs and you can have a pat.  Well he suddenly allowed his Mum to dress him and I went out to the garden to get a guinea pig from the hutch.  He had a pat and was straight into the shoot.  He sat so well, such a little darling.  I was super excited at the images we managed to get.  He was happy, he was serious and he did his puppy dog eyes.  He even did cute little cheeky smiles that melted my heart.

The chicken, Freckle.

Otis wanted to see my chicken named Freckle.  She is a geriatric chicken being five and a half years old.  That’s pretty old for a brown shaver.  She doesn’t lay anymore, but she is our beloved family pet and comes on holidays with us to our bach.  We put her in a box in the car and transport her 2 and a half hours, then plonk her in a pen up at our holiday house.  Anyway, Otis was unsure about patting her.  I brought her inside, holding her wings down so she didn’t flap.  He had a small pat and I put him out again.

Putting a chicken in a photoshoot

I saw Otis in his little overalls and realised the chicken would make a great accessory in a couple of photos.  I asked Otis if he would be ok with the chicken.  He wasn’t too sure, but his Mum was really keen to try it.  I got his Mum to hold the chicken next to him as you can see from the behind the scenes photos at the end of this blog.  She held the wings down on Freckle and then we got Otis in position and let go of the wings and the photos started to happen.  The chicken at one point looked up at my light and also looked at me when I called her.  She stayed on the seat.  “Well that went well” said Otis’s Mum.  The photos couldn’t have gone any better!  See my captures below.

Behind the scenes.

Check out some behind the scenes photos.  If you would like a photo with a pet I’m quite open to anything.  It can be either indoors or outdoors.  Just click on the link to my fun questionnaire and let me know what you are after!
