This beautiful couple Kate and Lei’ataua run a successful dance company called Silhouette Studios in Christchurch. They also dance together as Silhouette Adagio. They are wonderfully talented! Their son happens to be my daughter’s ballroom dance partner.
I dropped something off to them the other day and we got talking about doing some maternity photos. They only had a week before their baby was to be born by elective caesarian so we had to act fast. I chose Pines Beach near Kaiapoi as our location as I knew it had a superb variety of spots for photos. I ended up taking so many wonderful dance/maternity shots that I couldn’t chose which ones should make the blog. Here is a small selection. My faviourite image in a field was taken on a whim as we were driving away from Pines Beach. I’m so glad we took this. It is by far the most interesting maternity image I think I’ll ever take. I was slightly worried about the lifts but Lei’ataua is incredibly strong and experienced and lifted his beautiful wife so carefully.
