Dance Photography &#8211; Christchurch Dance Photographer"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>A fun commercial dance shoot!<\/h5>\n<p>I recently did a shoot for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stagedoorshop\/\">Stage Door Dance and Streetwear<\/a> located in New Regent Street, Christchurch. \u00a0The owners Gemma and Colette have the cutest wee shop in a very old and historic building. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_Regent_Street\">New Regent Street was built in the 1930s in a Spanish Mission Style<\/a>\u00a0and continues to impress me because there are very few old buildings left in Christchurch. \u00a0I love the shop fronts which are painted in pastel blue, green and yellow and have ornate style. \u00a0I think they are incredibly beautiful.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3173 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF7884-web.jpg?resize=800%2C800\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3172 size-full\" leotards<\/h5>\n<p>The owners, Gemma and Colette, sell everything from beautiful and stylish\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.capezio.com\">Capezio<\/a>\u00a0leotards to funky\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.drmartens.com\/uk\/en_gb\/\">Dr Martens<\/a> boots in bright colours. \u00a0The upstairs room is packed with racks of leotards and is impressive. \u00a0They have two cute dressing rooms and seats for those waiting. \u00a0I just loved the view through the French doors which looks over New Regent Street and I could see the beautiful colours of the buildings on the same level. \u00a0I also loved their stairway which has a wall covered with posters from musicals and productions.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3164 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF8073-web.jpg?resize=800%2C533\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" downstairs<\/h5>\n<p>I did some photos downstairs where shoes are displayed under Hollywood lights. \u00a0I think they are same gorgeous lights one would find in a theatre, possibly in the changing room out the back. \u00a0Hence the name Stage Door!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3162 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF8092-web.jpg?resize=533%2C800\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3169 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF8044-web.jpg?resize=800%2C533\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>Around the corner from the Theatre Royal.<\/h5>\n<p>Gemma and Colette&#8217;s shop is just around the corner from the Theatre Royal. \u00a0The Theatre Royal is a beautiful theatre which was repaired and brought back to life after the earthquakes. \u00a0It is in the perfect spot for dancers who are performing in the theatre to pop around the corner and buy an new leotard or pair of ballet shoes.<\/p>\n<h5>My beautiful model<\/h5>\n<p>My model for this shoot was the fabulous Charlise. \u00a0She is well known in the Christchurch dance scene. \u00a0Her ballet and ballroom and Latin American dancing skills are pretty amazing. \u00a0Charlise wore a red tutu for some of the photos. \u00a0This \u00a0tutu had been stored under the bed at home. \u00a0Charlise also modelled several Capezio leotards. \u00a0The shoot started at 3pm and finished when it was dark because we needed a large variety of images from the shoot.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3163 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF8085-web.jpg?resize=533%2C800\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>Lucky to get the key!<\/h5>\n<p>We were very lucky to get the key to the building across the road. \u00a0I found out that one of the owners had a brother who was leasing the property across New Regent Street. \u00a0This property had the opposing balcony. \u00a0I got up on that balcony and Charlise posed on the balcony belonging to Stage Door. \u00a0That way I was on the same level as my model and could capture several different images whilst including the amazing shop. \u00a0This shop really is about it&#8217;s location and top quality products and I wanted to showcase this!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3157 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF8167-web.jpg?resize=800%2C800\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>A panorama<\/h5>\n<p>I took about 8 photos which I stitched together in a vertical panorama. \u00a0The street frontage and the top of the building where captured. \u00a0Charlise was posing in the middle of the photo.
