{"id":3186,"date":"2019-09-03T11:42:41","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T23:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/?p=3186"},"modified":"2019-09-03T11:42:41","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T23:42:41","slug":"otis-and-the-chicken-a-beautiful-child-fine-art-portrait-shoot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/2019\/09\/03\/otis-and-the-chicken-a-beautiful-child-fine-art-portrait-shoot\/","title":{"rendered":"Otis and the chicken &#8211; a beautiful child fine art portrait shoot"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Christchurch Photographer | Christchurch Child Photographer<\/h4>\n<h5>A Cute Photoshoot<\/h5>\n<p>Otis and his Mum came yesterday for a small photoshoot for a Father&#8217;s Day present. \u00a0The shoot was all hush hush. \u00a0I found a pair of braces and a flat cap which perfectly suited little Otis. \u00a0He looked so cute dressed up I nearly died!<\/p>\n<h5>Great Style<\/h5>\n<p>Otis&#8217;s Mum has great style. \u00a0Her house is amazing &#8211; light coloured walls and oodles of style. \u00a0She loves to come to me for photos as I can work with her and find the aesthetic she loves. \u00a0I think we both get design and fashion and timelessness &#8211; we have similar tastes. \u00a0A couple of years ago I took photos of her daughter Lottie and made Lottie&#8217;s Dad cry on Father&#8217;s Day. \u00a0We are hoping to do the same again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3187\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF9980-Edit-web.jpg?resize=533%2C800\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3188 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCF9957-Edit-web.jpg?resize=533%2C800\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>Not getting dressed<\/h5>\n<p>Otis was a little unsure about the shoot at first. \u00a0He wouldn&#8217;t get dressed. \u00a0I told him, if you get dressed I&#8217;ll show you one of our guinea pigs and you can have a pat. \u00a0Well he suddenly allowed his Mum to dress him and I went out to the garden to get a guinea pig from the hutch. \u00a0He had a pat and was straight into the shoot. \u00a0He sat so well, such a little darling. \u00a0I was super excited at the images we managed to get. \u00a0He was happy, he was serious and he did his puppy dog eyes. \u00a0He even did cute little cheeky smiles that melted my heart.<\/p>\n<h5>The chicken, Freckle.<\/h5>\n<p>Otis wanted to see my chicken named Freckle. \u00a0She is a geriatric chicken being five and a half years old. \u00a0That&#8217;s pretty old for a brown shaver. \u00a0She doesn&#8217;t lay anymore, but she is our beloved family pet and comes on holidays with us to our bach. \u00a0We put her in a box in the car and transport her 2 and a half hours, then plonk her in a pen up at our holiday house. \u00a0Anyway, Otis was unsure about patting her. \u00a0I brought her inside, holding her wings down so she didn&#8217;t flap. \u00a0He had a small pat and I put him out again.<\/p>\n<h5>Putting a chicken in a photoshoot<\/h5>\n<p>I saw Otis in his little overalls and realised the chicken would make a great accessory in a couple of photos. \u00a0I asked Otis if he would be ok with the chicken. \u00a0He wasn&#8217;t too sure, but his Mum was really keen to try it. \u00a0I got his Mum to hold the chicken next to him as you can see from the behind the scenes photos at the end of this blog. \u00a0She held the wings down on Freckle and then we got Otis in position and let go of the wings and the photos started to happen. \u00a0The chicken at one point looked up at my light and also looked at me when I called her. \u00a0She stayed on the seat. \u00a0&#8220;Well that went well&#8221; said Otis&#8217;s Mum. \u00a0The photos couldn&#8217;t have gone any better!
