For the month of July the theme was portraiture. I had been on an amazing trip up the gondola with two of my children and walked back down the other side into Lyttelton. On the way down the hill on the Bridle Path I saw a lichen covered rock. I did a double exposure of Arielle&#8217;s face overlaid with the lichen. I tried several times until I got this photo which I like a lot. <\/span><\/p>\n<h5>Chosen for the banner<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I put this on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/fujifilmxseriesnz\/\">Fujifilm X Series New Zealand Facebook group page<\/a> as part of the challenge and at the end of the month they chose my photo. My photo went up on the banner for the whole of August. I was very grateful to them and it was exciting to see my photo every time I went to the page.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3378\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/67540888_2291411860954995_6428905574926123008_n.jpg?resize=540%2C960\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3377\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/67960155_2291411880954993_9045058626951053312_n.jpg?resize=540%2C960\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>The August Food Challenge<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the month of August the challenge was food photography. I had never done food photography in my life but decided to give it ago. I decided to use one of my hand painted backdrops for the background. The backdrop Maia calls my mouldy backdrop. It is a green blue colour with lots of texture. I used five small dishes which I\u2019d been given many years ago for our wedding. They are the shape of leaves and tone in with my backdrop.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5>The food<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I made some lentil dip and some small little breadsticks which I baked in the oven. We had some roasted pumpkin seeds. And my children decided to crack some walnuts for one of the dishes. The other dish had sliced camembert cheese in it. I set it up with some lovely window light and took two or three photos until I was happy. I put it up on the Fujifilm X series NZ group and got some good comments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3379\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.belindalansleyphotography.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/69617790_2349611051801742_2676099336504344576_o.jpg?resize=1080%2C720\" alt=\"food photography Christchurch\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now on 2 September I found out that it also won the monthly challenge. I have a feeling I may post one of my double exposure portraits with water overlaying the person\u2019s face. What do you think of this photo?
